Rhiannon is our FLO and was appointed in September 2022. Prior to being appointed as our FLO, since 2018 she has worked with many of our pupils and their families as one of our highly experienced Teaching Assistants. Rhiannon’s FLO role provides a supportive link between families and the school, building trusting relationships and providing advice and support. Rhiannon oversees our Pupil & Family Support Plans (PFSPs) and works with external ‘early help’ agencies when required. She also supports the Inclusion Manager with attendance monitoring and will encourage and support parents to improve their child’s attendance.
Baston House School has a commitment and statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
Sometimes we have to seek advice or support from external professionals such as social care services. We will always endeavour to do this transparently and with the full support of parents, however, we have a legal duty to share our concerns whether we have parental consent or not. This is NEVER a personal decision, but with the best interests of the child at the forefront of everything we do. Any action taken to safeguard pupils is informed by government legislation, which in turn informs our policies and procedures.
The Inclusion Team is part of the school’s Multi-Disciplinary (MDT) Team and works cohesively with all school departments to ensure the best support for our pupils, whilst maintaining the confidentiality of our pupils and their families.
